A handicraft workshop has helped more than 500 laid-off women support their families and enjoy life at Cheliangchang Community of Liuzhou City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
"The workshop enriches my life and I want that money badly to support my home," said a woman working at the handicraft workshop.
Making colorful silk balls and national costumes are the major business of the workshop.
The handicraft workshop is just a part of the first community work station established by the United Front Work Department of Liuzhou District Committee.
The work station was set up in May 2010 and serves 3,905 families with a total population of 9,229. It is also the first united front work demonstration base in culture in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
