Taxi fares hike in Beijing (2)

Photo taken on June 9, 2013 shows a taximeter adjusted according to the latest fare hike in Beijing, capital of China. The 3-kilometer base fare for a taxi in Beijing rose by 30 percent from 10 yuan (1.6 U.S. dollars) to 13 yuan as of Monday. According to the new plan, a cab fare will be charged at 2.3 yuan per kilometer after the first 3 kilometers. (Xinhua/Li Wen)
