Ma was a middle school student five years ago. He dug up his classmate who was buried in ruins with his bare hands after four hours’ work. In February 2009, Ma was invited to visit Polytechnic University of Florida in the U.S. To award his bravery, the president of the university promised that if Ma passed the TOEFL exam, the university would provide him a full scholarship.
