"The Flying Machine" is actually a 2011 3-D film produced by BreakThru Films. It tells the story of a family that takes a journey across the globe on a strange and amazing flying machine, experiencing a series of adventures along the way.
It is the first time famous Chinese pianist Lang Lang has starred in a feature film. The film, combining live action and animation, tells how Lang Lang, portraying a pianist in the movie as well,whisks away a mother and her children on a magic piano to experience Polish pianist Chopin's life.
Lang Lang plays 12 etudes of Chopin in the film. At the Beijing premiere he said the film would help more people understand the great Polish musician.
It is the first film to combine live-action and stop-motion in 3-D. It is set to the etudes of Frédéric Chopin, and is intended to mark his 200th anniversary. The score was arranged by writer-director Geoff Lindsey and performed by the film's co-star Lang Lang.
