One person, one city

Even if it is a world of ice and snow, the name of Zhang Lili from Jiamusi makes the city full of warmth.

Zhang, a teacher at the 19th High School of Jiamusi, was seriously injured when saving students on May 8, 2012. A group of “most beautiful Chinese people” like Zhang emerged in succession this year, spreading much positive energy.

Mo Yan from Gaomi of Shandong province and Liu Yang from Linzhou of Henan drew great attention in 2012, with reporters and numerous visitors out of admiration coming to their counties and villages. The supreme honor of Nobel Prize for Literature and the manual docking of “Shenzhou-9” and “Tiangong-1” brought joy to China and attracted the attention of the world.

Young swimmers Ye Shiwen and Sun Yang broke the world record at the London Olympics, showing the world “the current level in of China” and making Hangzhou where they were born the focus of the public.
