Permanent foreign residents to share rights, duties with Chinese (2)

Permanent foreign residents will also be able to enjoy social insurance and purchase homes using publicly accumulated housing funds, the regulation says.

According to a circular issued by five ministries, including the MHRSS and the Ministry of Public Security, the foreign spouses or children of high-caliber Chinese returnees will be able to apply for long-term visas and permanent residence.

High-caliber foreign experts can also apply for residence or long-term multi-entry visas lasting two to five years, the circular said.

The current limit for long-term visas is less than two years.
