Journalists from People's Daily Online, participating in a reporting project on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), recently visited Moscow, Russia's capital city.

The team explored various sites in Moscow, including the China Cultural Center, the Bely Rast Terminal Logistics Center, the China Trade Center, the Krasny Oktyabr confectionery factory, and the Michurinsky Prospekt station on the Moscow Metro. Their reporting highlighted the people-to-people bonds and shared development between China and Russia.

Located 30 kilometers north of Moscow, the Bely Rast Terminal Logistics Center was bustling with activity. China-Europe freight trains originating from over 30 Chinese cities, including Beijing, Xi'an, Chongqing, Hefei, and Yiwu, routinely arrive here, laden with containers filled with automobiles, machinery, small commodities, and more.

As a key logistics infrastructure project between China and Russia, the sprawling 1.79-million-square-meter logistics hub is a critical overseas station for China-Europe freight trains.

At the China Trade Center in Moscow, the journalists encountered young Russians visiting the popular landmark. The Chinese-style architecture, featuring arched gates, pavilions, stacked stones, and weeping willows, has become a picturesque and popular spot for social media selfies.

The journalists also toured the Greenwood International Trade Center, where Chinese goods such as home appliances, auto parts, and clothing were displayed for sale. Hosting over 300 enterprises from more than 14 countries and regions, including over 170 Chinese companies, the center facilitates nearly $5 billion in annual trade between China and Russia.

Since it was unveiled in 2012, the China Cultural Center in Moscow has been the venue for numerous cultural activities designed to foster mutual understanding between the peoples of China and Russia.

The reporting activity, organized by People's Daily Online, divided journalists into two teams — one focusing on domestic reporting and the other embarking on an overseas trip to 17 countries.

In Russia, the journalists are scheduled to continue their journey to St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg in the coming days.
