Ducks were swimming and foraging amidst lotus flowers and leaves in lotus ponds in Laozhu She township in Liandu district, Lishui city, east China's Zhejiang Province.

The method of lotus farming that relies on ducks to eat insects and weeds has been promoted in Liandu district. The eco-friendly farming system produces pollution-free lotus roots and high-quality duck meat and eggs, which increase farmers' income by 15,000 yuan ($2,070) per mu of land.
