RABAT, June 25 (Xinhua) -- As one of events of the 2019 China Tourism and Culture Week in Morocco, the "Chinese Culture into Campus" event was held on Monday in the northern city of Tangier in Morocco.

In the morning, staff of China Cultural Center in Rabat came to the Henry Walloon School in Tangier to introduce the Chinese language, food and other cultural sense to students.

In addition to watching the Chinese shadow play, students also participated in hand-crafted activities with strong Chinese characteristics such as paper-cutting, opera facial makeup painting and shadow play making.

The performance by two Chinese shadow play artists of the short play of "The Clever Turtle" and "Monkeys Grasp for the Moon" drew waves of laughter.

Essalimi Ghita, a seven-year-old Moroccan girl, told Xinhua that this is her first time to see such a Chinese puppet show which is very amusing.

Oumaima Bennis, director of the Henry Walloon School, said that this is the second time that the school has organized activities related to Chinese culture.

The students have understood more about the Chinese culture by participating in such events, Bennis added.

The culture week in Morocco will end in mid-July. During the period, cities including Rabat, Casablanca and Tangier, will hold activities such as photo exhibitions, costume exhibitions, tourism promotion conferences, and film screenings.
