BEIJING, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Wang Huning on Thursday met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is here to attend the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
Wang, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, noted the year of 2020 marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The two sides should concentrate on the major task of implementing the consensus reached by their top leaders, and bring about more fruitful results in China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperation, Wang said.
The Vietnamese side is ready to work with China to advance the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and open up a new vista of bilateral relations, said the Vietnamese prime minister.
