Artisans use silver thread to make crafts in Chengdu City, Southwest China's Sichuan Province. The craft dates back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and involves time-consuming, elaborate steps to pull a one-meter silver piece into a 1000-meter thin thread, which is then used to make all kinds of handmade works. In 2008, the craft was included as a national intangible cultural heritage. (Photo: China News Service/Zhong Xin)
