In recent years, Guangxi has striven to develop a modern cubic transportation systems with its sea, land and air transports extending in all directions. The transportation capabilities within Guangxi have so far been greatly improved with high-speed railway lines hitting some 1,751 km, expressways totaling over 5,000 km, annual throughput of coastal and inland ports reaching 250 million tonnes and 110 million tonnes respectively, and annual airport passenger throughput nearing 30 million trips.
