China and ASEAN advanced technologies showcased in CAEXPO (3)

Nanning (People's Daily Online) - The 15th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) kicked off on Wednesday, Sept. 12 in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The events, which will both last until Sept. 15, have brought together tens of thousands of guests from China and abroad to attend various exhibitions, forums and business conferences.

An exhibition of China's advanced technologies and achievements of China-ASEAN innovation and collaboration has been a highlight in the CAEXPO, as 2018 marks the China-ASEAN Year of Innovation.

A number of high tech products, including maglev trains, entertainment robots, UAVs, ICT, artificial intelligence, aerospace information technology and environmental protection equipment are on display. A total of 430 projects from over 170 enterprises and institutes are being exhibited during the event.

The exhibition has become an important platform to facilitate China-ASEAN technological collaboration.

The China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center (CATTC), which is based in Guangxi, has focused on the integration of China-ASEAN innovation. The center has helped promote the transfer of China's advanced technologies in agriculture, new energy, biotechnology, and chemical engineering to ASEAN countries. For example, the transfer of agricultural and new energy technologies to Vietnam has helped local enterprises develop new products, and the transfer of rice planting and processing technologies to Cambodia has enabled the country to improve its quality of rice exports.
