Qiannan prefecture in Southwest China's Guizhou province signed a total of 16 investment and cooperative agreements, valued at more than 2.9 billion yuan ($446 million), with companies from Guangdong province during an investment and trade fair held in the Guangdong provincial capital on Monday.
The agreements, which mainly involve the forestry and agriculture industries, are expected to play an important role in developing Qiannan prefecture's rich natural resources, forestry and agriculture industries, said Wu Haiping, a member of the Standing Committee of the Qiannan Committee of the Communist Party of China.
"Qiannan welcomes investors from outside to settle down in the prefecture to help develop natural, forestry and agriculture industries which have great potential in the years ahead," said Wu, who is executive deputy chief of the prefecture.
