Authorities on Sunday launched an investigation into a deadly boat accident in southwest Chinese province of Sichuan on Saturday, as 14 people including at least six children remained missing.
Rescuers are still searching for the 14 missing passengers. The tourist boat "Shuanglong" with 18 people on board capsized during strong winds on Bailong Lake in the city of Guangyuan, minutes before it would have reached its destination.
4 people were rescued immediately, though a child among them was later pronounced dead after emergency treatment failed.
The other 3 remain under observation at a local hospital.
The capsized boat has been found about 65 meters under the water. However, no sign of life was detected.
Underwater robots will be sent to assist the salvage of the boat on Monday.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the accident.
All tour boats and ship operations in Guangyuan have been suspended for safety checks.
China's State Administration of Work Safety has sent a work team to the accident site.
The accident took place just three days after the 1st anniversary of the sinking of the Eastern Star.
