Chinese navy fleet 152 arrives at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, the U.S. Sunday morning for a 5-day goodwill visit. It was the fleet’s second visit to the U.S. following the visit to Jacksonville in early November.
Hawaii is the 11th leg of the global visit of the Chinese navy fleet 152. Following its last visit to Mexico ending on Nov. 28, it arrived at Pearl Harbor after 15 days of continuous sailing in the Pacific.
The Pearl Harbor was bathed in sunshine in the morning. The U.S. and Chinese flags fluttered in the wind. At 10 a.m., the Jinan ship slowly arrived at the Pearl Harbor. John Fuller, commander of Navy Region Hawaii, the staff from Chinese consulate and representatives of the oversea Chinese held a welcome ceremony at the pier. People visited the Jinan, Yiyang and Qiandaohu ships after the ceremony.
During the visit, the Chinese navy fleet will hold a reception on deck. Some soldiers will participate in the reception organized by the U.S. Navy. Some exchange activities such as football game, basketball game and Tug of War will be held between Chinese and U.S. soldiers. Wang Jianxun, commander of the Chinese fleet will present wreath to sailors who sacrificed in the attack on Pearl Harbor at the USS Arizona Memorial.
