Shuian Yinzuo consists of three residential tower buildings near the Haihe River in the center of Tianjin. It was once popular in Tianjin because of terrific location and great price. Its developer Zhao Jin is the son of Zhao Shaolin, then secretary-general of the provincial party committee of Jiangsu, who has been placed under compulsive measures for suspected party and criminal offenses.

According to Tianjin Daily, the construction of Shuian Yinzuo has violated several regulations, including unauthorized change of plans and serious shrinkage of space. For example, the third tower building, according to plan, should be 169 meters tall, with 35 stories; however, it turned out to be 65 stories and 208 meters tall. The high population density of the community would not only lead to serious overburden of medical care, education, culture, but more importantly, the consequences would be disastrous if a fire breaks out in such a tall, densely populated building.

How to tear down such tall buildings has become a tricky problem. There are 30 buildings in Tianjin taller than 200 meters, and the one of Shuian Yinzuo ranks the 23rd. It is the first super tall building over 200 meters which has to be torn down in China. Restricted by the surroundings and location, the possibility of blasting demolition has been ruled out. But the cost of demolition by workers will be much higher.
