A Chinese woman who was suspected to offer sex bribe to an officer of the Customs and Border Protection on condition that he would allow her daughter pass through with 160,000-dollar-worth of undeclared goods has recently been arrested.

In July 2015, Yang Hong, 55, arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport from Paris with her daughter, who currently studies in Manhattan. The Customs and Border Protection officer found her daughter had several valuable undeclared goods on her including expensive pocketbooks, wristwatches, a fur coat and diamond jewelries. Yang then gave the officer a piece of paper with her nickname and phone number, and told him she would give him a 10,000-dollar-worth wristwatch if he would let her daughter pass through the Customs with the goods.

The officer then left to take some recording equipment, and he gave the piece of paper back to Yang when he returned. This time, Yang upgraded her offer to "sleep with" him and take him to China.

Yang was arrested on the weekend at the airport when she attempted to board a flight to China. She was released on 250,000 dollars bail on Monday afternoon. "There was clearly a misunderstanding that unfortunately has resulted in an unjust arrest of a wonderful woman," Yang's lawyer argued.
