Thousands of local residents dig stones in a river in Hejiang, southwest China's Sichuan province after a villager said that there are jades in the river. This has left negative effects on the river and local ecology. Some say that the rocks can be sold for hundreds yuan per kilogram. Local authority has sent some stones dug up in the river to verify whether those stones are authentic jade or not. (Photo/West China Metropolis)
