Johannesburg, Sep 16 (People’s Daily Online) - Bauma Africa kicked off on Tuesday at Nasrec in Johannesburg, South Africa. With a largest proportion among foreign exhibitors, Chinese construction machinery leaders take this opportunity with lineups of stellar products.
The four-day exhibition is sponsored by Munich International Expo Group to meet Africa's robust demand for technology and trade in areas such as construction machinery.
XCMG, as an industry-leading construction machinery producer in China, launched a "One Belt, One Road" service campaign on the first day of the exhibition. During the campaign, mostly in the 20-plus African countries under the program, the group has conducted a field inspection of around 10,000 in-warranty products, including lifting, earth-moving, road, mining, concrete and pile-driving machinery, as well as truck-mounted cranes and heavy trucks. In addition to developing an optimized network of sales and service outlets, the service campaign was designed to carry out standard operating procedures to improve its service standard.
Despite the industry downturn, XCMG has achieved encouraging results in the African market. According to customs statistics, XCMG exported over US$170 million worth of products to Africa in 2014 and nearly US$90 million in the first half of 2015, positioning it as the largest Chinese exporter to the market for consecutive years.
Focusing on exploring global markets extensively, XCMG has established a mature marketing network and service parts system in Africa. Currently, the group has built up 20 service spare parts centers and 6 training centers across the continent.
Thanks to its solid product quality and extensive sales network in Africa, XCMG has won a bunch of large orders, including the supply of complete sets of equipment to the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway and complete sets of machinery to Ethiopia, the order for 100m aerial platform fire trucks from Angola, and the supply of complete sets of factory equipment to Nigeria.
