Sun Sufang, 65, sits in a chair in the front of an ivy covered house at the end of Junxing Road in Ziyang City, Sichuan province on Aug 26. The house behind her is about to be demolished by local government.
Sun and her family reached an agreement to leave the old house for a new one a day ago.
Sun said those ivy wines were planted by her late husband all around the house. "He planted for me because he knew that I love greens." Sun’s husband passed away six years ago. "That ivy wines are precious, because they are all he left for me."
At first, Sun were not willing to move out the ivy-covered old house, where is filled with all good memories with her husband. In order to provide a better housing condition for her grandchildren, she finally decided to say goodbye to those 23 year old ivy wines.
23 years ago, the house is situated in the suburb of Ziyang city. Neighbors planted vegetables around their houses at that time. Only Sun’s family planted ivy wines around their house. At time goes by, the house is now fully covered with ivy wines and becoming a dreamy place for tourists.
The lush ivy wines often remind Sun of her late husband. She used to compliment her husband, saying "Ivy wines turned our home into a dreamy place".
However, Sun’s house is about to be demolished because local government plans to build higher buildings there. Sun’s family will move to a new house. "I want my son and my grandchildren to live in a new house but I’ll miss my old ivy-covered home."
