Experts from Xinjiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology have confirmed that China’s earliest evidence for use of coal was found in Jirentai Relics in Nilka county, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The evidence dates back to 3,500 years ago, which is about 1,000 years earlier than the previous known time of human’s coal use. (Photo/Xinhua) |
