DJIBOUTI, April 10 -- Djibouti has asked its nationals still living in Yemento immediately leave the country which has been engulfed in a civil war, three weeks since the launch of an operation by an Arab military coalition led by Saudi Arabia against Houthi rebels.

Djibouti's ambassador to Yemen Mohamed Douhour Hersi has asked his fellow citizens to register at the Djibouti Embassy so that repatriation operation can be done in better conditions.

"Living in Yemen has become very dangerous and the evacuation operations initiated by the Djibouti government will not continue forever," he warned in a statement released by the Djibouti News Agency.

He said once the registration process is over, Djibouti nationals will be placed in one place from where they will be transported in buses up to Yemeni ports, from where they will be taken back home.

Hersi said majority of the Djiboutian nationals living in Yemen, estimated to be between 1,500 to 2,000, have already been repatriated.
