Located at an altitude of 3,300 meters, Yunnan Institute of Buddhist Studies Diqing Branch is an important school of Tibetan Buddhism in Yunnan.

Located at an altitude of 3,300 meters, Yunnan Institute of Buddhist Studies Diqing Branch is an important school of Tibetan Buddhism in Yunnan. Established in 2005, the institute now has a total of 68 monks, who are from some monasteries in Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet. Besides daily chanting sutras, monks here also take classes such as Tibetan language, Chinese, Buddhist Theory, Politics, English and Computer. (Xinhua/Lin Yiguang)
