BISHKEK, March 6 -- The latest Chinese government work report reflects China's stable economic growth, which has made huge contribution to the world economy, and shows the pragmatic style of the government, a Kyrgyz economist said in an interview with Xinhua here on Thursday.
"Certainly, the largest theme in the report is the economy," said Ayylchi Sarybaev, a famous Kyrgyz economic sciences doctor, in commenting on the work report delivered on Thursday by Chinese Premier Li Keqiangat the opening meeting of the third annual session of China's 12th National People's Congress (NPC).
Sarybaev described as "huge" the achievements that China has scored in the past year, saying the growth rate of China's economy fits the modern reality.
He noted that the socioeconomic development of China in general went smoothly and steadily in the past year.
The 7 percent GDPgrowth target for a country with a huge population is an excellent indicator, the economist said.
He also said that the main part of Li's report emphasized the improvement of the social status of Chinese citizens, because it is really very difficult to equalize social inequalities, but the Chinese government is doing everything possible.
Sarybaev said that Li's report stresses the importance of maintaining equitableness and justice for society.
China today is a leader in the global economy, he said, noting that "as a most powerful country, China has to maintain justice in the world" and has to set a positive example for many other countries.
Sarybaev said that Li's report is very pragmatic, and it addresses all the most important aspects of life in China, such as maintaining stability, deepening reforms in the field of the market economy, foreign policy, the fight against corruption, social security and education.
All of these areas will bring big benefits in the future to the Chinese people as well as the peoples in the whole world, he said.
Sarybaev also noted that what is the most unexpected for him in the report is the part about the new industries and key areas of competition.
Development of the "Internet Plus" program of action is promoting integration of the mobile Internet, "cloud computing", "big data," Industrial Internet and online financial services with the modern manufacturing sector, which will greatly increase China's national competitiveness, he added.
