The story of street singer Zhang Mingyuan

When the evening lights are lit, Zhang Mingyuan, the famous street singer starts his performance in Shuangjing Bridge, East 3rd Ring of Beijing. His small cart is full of sound equipment weighing 150 kilograms, including loudspeaker, battery, guitar, microphone etc.

"I would rather die in endeavors, not to feel sorry in success," says Zhang. He is a veritable soldier, who passed more than 20 provinces and 60 cities with his guitar.

Zhang was born in Daqing, northeast China's Heilongjiang province in 1984. His parents always quarreled with each other in his childhood. When he was 11 years old, his parents left home separately. He gave up waiting for them after two months. One day he climbed up a train and arrived in Harbin where he began the wanderer’s life.

He joined the army and became an artistic soldier in 2001. He fell in love music deeply, and felt happy and sorrow-free when he played the guitar.

"I can't wait to realize my dream, and I must take care of my parents. I want to improve the lives of my parents," he said. Zhang finally found his parents in 2009. He bought them houses with hard-earned savings. And he supported his parents by running a fruit store and a cosmetic shop.

His mother died of cancer in 2013. In her final days, Zhang took care of her and wrote a song named 'Mother'for her.

Zhang has more understandings and feelings of life now. He wants to write a book titled "Bring Love to Home". He dreams to become a 'speaker and singer', sharing his story with the public and telling people about the experience from hatred to love.

He always goes to hospital with his good friends on holidays, singing and performing for old persons there and chatting with them. He also makes advertisement for an old man when he performs in the square. This old man supports his child to study in the university by selling balloons near Zhang Mingyuan in the square.

"I want to see that friends have better lives because of me. I will make contributions to society and make people smile happily, this is a wonderful thing for me,"said Zhang. He will sing songs when he is 80 years old. And he is a hero street singer.
