HOUSTON, Sept. 27 -- One person was killed and another seriously injured Saturday afternoon after a small plane crashed in San Jacinto county, which is located in the eastern part of U.S. state of Texas.
The accident, which happened about 4:30 p.m. local time at a private airfield, killed the 44-year-old pilot and injured the 35-year-old passenger after the self-built, two-seater plane hit some trees and broke, local TV station ABC13 reported.
The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger with two broken legs and multiple fractures was sent to a hospital for treatment.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed the accident while the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the case on Sunday morning.
