HOUSTON, April 29 -- A high school in the U.S. state of Texas was placed on lockdown Tuesday after a student received a text message alleging someone carried a weapon on campus, local media reported.

A male student at Madison High School in San Antonio received a text message from an unknown number Tuesday morning stating, "I have a weapon." The student reported to a teacher who told the school administrator and afterwards the school was on lockdown, local TV KVUE reported.

The same student then received a second text saying the lockdown was a joke. Police did a sweep of the campus and found no weapons. The lockdown was lifted several hours later and school resumed as normal, according to the report,

The police have identified the person who sent the threatening text message as a 17-year-old female. A school district official told the media she faces disciplinary action from the district and could face charges.

It was the second time for the school to have a lockdown within 24 hours. On Monday, the school scrambled to lock down the campus after a student was found with loaded guns, including an AK-47 rifle. The 17-year-old male was arrested and booked into jail on a 300,000 dollars bond.

School district officials said Tuesday that tighter security measures, which have yet to be determined, will be placed at the high school and possibly on other campuses on Wednesday.
