On August 4, 2014, the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences released the news that after an in-depth research on the ursavus fossils found in northwest China’s Linxia basin, the ursavus is confirmed to be a new species and is named “Daishi ursavus”.
