Hu Zemin, CEO of 91 Wireless, talked about its merging with Baidu during China CEO summit 2013 in Beijing, Dec. 18, 2013.
Earlier this August, 91 Wireless Websoft, a major Chinese smartphone application distributor, was acquired by Baidu, one of the search engine giants in China, at a price of 1.9 billion U.S. dollar.
An inspiration to the industry
According to Hu, MA (Mergers and Acquisitions) and listing are two major way for IPO (Initial Public Offering). The merger between Baidu and 91 can be seen as a sign indicating that more mergers like this will occur frequently in the coming years, which is a new inspiration to the whole industry.
As the Internet development by itself could be limited, the mobile internet finds its own opportunity. The future mergers could occur specially among SMEs (small and medium enterprises) in 2014-2015.
How to survive through changes
Hu mentioned being in the mobile Internet era could be very unpredictable. The only secret to survive through the upheavals is to rely on your own and to find security in different ways as possible as one can.
