A father in Mianzhou, Sichuan province, built a 3-ton fully functioning tank for his 6-year-old son as a gift, Sichuan New reported on April 9.
Jian Lin, 31, a retired solider from Chinese navy in Qingdao, was a plane mechanic. He spent two months to build the tank, spending about 40,000 yuan ($6,432). The tank is 4.5 meters long, 1.6 meter wide and 2.1 meters high; it can run at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour. The turret can rotate 360 degrees. Although the tank cannot fire, it makes loud “Bang Bang” sounds.
His son loves this gigantic toy so much that he always plays in it after school. Jian said it is so cool to give his son this toy, and he also realized his dream of building a vehicle.
