Photo story: Students boarding in 'caves'

Qingshan Middle School is located in Luguan Town, Xinhua County, south China's Hunan Province. At present, there are 438 students and 38 faculty members in the school. Qingshan Middle School and the nearby Daxi Primary School are responsible for teaching students from 15 villages in the town.

Many students have to board in the school. However, the 60-year-old dormitories are very shabby, like caves in darkness. Some students turned to live with relatives or rent a room not far away from the school, only 30 students chose the dorms.

Despite the difficulties and poor conditions in remote mountain area, the teaching quality here is quite good. Every year, a certain number of students are able to be accepted by the key high school in Xinhua County.
