In photos: The development of Hami railway in Xinjiang

With the increasing investment in infrastructure construction in Xinjiang, the Hami railway has undergone rapid development in recent years. At present, the Lan-Xin (Lanzhou to Urumqi in Xinjiang) high-speed railway is completed; the electrification of Hong-Wu (Hongliuhe to Urumqi) railway has been finished and put into usage, and the Ha-Luo (Hami to Nur) railway is completed and opened to public. The Hami freight train railway has become the major transportation line. Xinjiang's first railway to be constructed with private capital, the railway from Hongliuhe to Naomaohu, was approved in February 2014. With its rapid construction, the Hami railway has become a transportation hub and an important support for economic development in Xinjiang.
