The prototype of world's most advanced third-generation streetcars rolled off the production line at Qingdao-based CSR Sifang in China on Monday. For the first time, the vehicle is driven by a permanent magnet motor and equipped with articulated bogie, which are two world's leading technologies.
The vehicle has characteristics including efficiency and safety, low noise and low operation and maintenance cost. It is safe when turning sharp corners.
With a maximum operating speed of 70 km per hour, the streetcar is equipped with systems including intelligent network control, video surveillance, emergency alarms and passenger information.
