BEIJING, March 19 -- Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Wednesday met with Ugandan Foreign Minister Sam Kutesa in Beijing and they exchanged views on China-Uganda relations and the situation in Africa.
Yang said that China attaches great importance to the role of Uganda in regional and international affairs.
China is willing to make joint efforts with Uganda, in line with the consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to intensify China-Uganda cooperation in all aspects, Yang said.
Kutesa spoke highly of Uganda-China ties and appreciated China's positive efforts in maintaining regional peace and stability as well as assisting the development of African countries.
