BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Mutual trust is the foundation for building a new model of major-country relationship between China and the U.S., Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Saturday.

The new model is a positive strategic outlook as well as a solemn commitment the two countries have made to the international community, Wang told a press conference on the sidelines of the annual session of the country's national legislature.
