BEIJING, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao on Monday vowed to promote the development of relations with Lesotho.
Li made the remarks while meeting with a delegation of the ruling Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) led by Deputy Prime Minister Mothetjoa Metsing.
Li praised the development of China-Lesotho relations in recent years, saying that the LCD and the Communist Party of China have maintained mutual respect and understanding since they started exchanges 11 years ago.
He expressed hope that the two parties will expand communication regarding governance and party-building and promote mutually beneficial cooperation and friendly exchanges so as to promote a sustainable, healthy and stable China-Lesotho relations.
Metsing said Lesotho will continue to firmly adhere to the one-China policy, adding that he hopes exchanges and cooperation between both parties and the two countries can be enhanced.
