BEIJING, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has extended a congratulatory message to Kevin Rudd after he was sworn in as prime minister of Australia Thursday.
Li sent the message on Saturday. Rudd was sworn in as new Australian prime minister following his victory in a ruling Labor party caucus ballot Wednesday.
This is the second time for Rudd to serve as Labor prime minister. He was in office from 2007 to 2010.
