BEIJING, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Vice President Li Yuanchao met with Malawian President Joyce Banda on Tuesday.
Li said bilateral exchanges and cooperation have made great progress since the two countries forged diplomatic relations.
Bilateral cooperation has benefited both sides and conforms with both countries' aspirations and fundamental interests, he said.
China is willing to enhance investment in Malawi's development and expand people-to-people exchanges in order to boost ties, he added.
Banda said China's development has brought experience and confidence to Malawi, adding that she hopes China will support Malawi's economic construction.
Banda is visiting China to attend the 2013 China-South Asia Expo, which will run in southwest China's city of Kunming from June 6 to 10.
