BEIJING, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao on Thursday vowed to promote friendly cooperative ties with South Sudan.

Li made the remarks while meeting with a delegation from the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) led by Kom Kom Geng.

China attaches great importance to developing relations with South Sudan, said Li.

He said China is ready to work with South Sudan to enhance political mutual trust and deepen people-to-people exchanges as well as pragmatic cooperation.

The Communist Party of China (CPC) is willing to step up exchanges at all levels with the SPLM to push forward the bilateral friendship and cooperation, said the vice president.

Geng said the SPLM delegation hopes to learn from the CPC's experiences in party ruling and state governance, as well as promote bilateral cooperation in investment, education and culture.
