Singapore's Emeritus Senior Minister to visit China

SINGAPORE, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong is scheduled to visit China from Tuesday to next Monday, the city-state's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.

During his visit in China's Guangdong Province from Tuesday to Thursday, Goh will meet Guangdong Party Secretary Hu Chunhua, Guangzhou Party Secretary Wan Qingliang, Shenzhen Party Secretary Wang Rong and other provincial leaders.

He will also visit Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City there. The ministry said the visit is part of the country's broader efforts to enhance linkages with key Chinese provinces.

From Thursday to next Monday, Goh is scheduled to attend the annual Boao Forum for Asia in China's Hainan Province, where the minister will meet China's President Xi Jinping in a joint call with fellow board directors of the forum.
