Chinese State Councilor to attend BRICS security meeting

BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese delegation headed by State Councilor Dai Bingguo will attend the third meeting of BRICS senior representatives on security issues in New Delhi from Jan. 10 to 11, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said Monday.

Hong made the announcement at a regular press briefing and said the delegation was invited by Indian National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon.

The BRICS nations refer to Brazil, Russia India, China and South Africa.
