GUILIN, May 8 -- A county Party secretary in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has been sacked for a suspected discipline violation, authorities said on Thursday.
Huang Yongyue, the Party chief of Yongfu County of Guilin City, was exposed online for giving cash gifts of more than a million yuan (about 160,000 U.S.dollars) to 26 county officials ahead of Spring Festival this year.
The county's discipline inspection commission secretary, Jing Cuiyan, was also sacked.
Authorities are further investigating the case.
