After more than a year of continuing quest for the whereabouts of the wild snow leopard, a moderately large cat native to the mountain ranges in Central Asia, Gasong Renqing, a photography enthusiast from Yushu prefecture, northwest China’s Qinghai province, finally managed to capture pictures of them in mid November, on December 15 and 16, 2013 respectively in Zaduo County, Yushu. It is roughly estimated that there are about 1,000 wild snow leopards in Qinghai, and 2,000 to 3,000 of them in China in all. Other snow leopard habitats in other regions in China include Xinjiang, Tibet, Gansu and Sichuan province.
