Four court officials in Shanghai have been suspended from their posts amid an investigation into their alleged hiring of prostitutes at a nightclub, local authorities said.
The four officials include Chen Xueming, chief of the No. 1 civil court of the Shanghai Higher People's Court, the court announced on Sunday.
The investigation was launched after a netizen released video footage that allegedly shows the four officials soliciting prostitutes at the Hengshan Resort in Shanghai on the night of June 9.
Two officials, including Chen and Zhao Minghua, deputy chief of the court's No. 1 civil court, have been identified.
The court has pledged a thorough probe and harsh punishment if the allegations are found to be true.
