Five college students from Beijing finish their one-year teaching work in a school in Xinmin town of Jingyuan county in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, June 25, 2013. Mu Yang used his lens and words to record their daily life in the past year.

Sept. 3, 2012: The new term began with a rainy day. Some students, with the new textbooks in their pocket, were cleaning the campus. They watched us with curious eyes. I had thought I was going to live in a harsh environment, with dangerous mud house. But when I saw the blacktop and spacious premises, and when I heard the pop song from the radio, I convinced myself that it couldn't be a tough year.

Aug. 31, 2012: After the hard work for an afternoon, we have finally turned the rough room into a real living room.
