At least 11 die after bus plunges into valley in China's Xinjiang

URUMQI, June 18 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 people died after a bus carrying 35 people plunged into a valley Tuesday afternoon in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, according to local traffic police.

The accident occurred around 5:15 p.m. when the bus was travelling to a tourist spot near the city of Changji, said Shi Rui, a traffic police officer.

"The injured have been rushed to hospital," Shi said.
