Xinhua)  14:39, April 18, 2013

A farmer holds a mouldy corn in the field which suffers from serious spring waterlogging in Luobei County, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, April 17, 2013. Frequent snowfall last winter brought waterlogging to croplands in 63 counties, making 79.36 million mu (about 5.3 million hectares) of arable land contain too much water. Also, earlier and more frequent snowfall last winter prevented local farmers from harvesting ripe corns in time and most corns collected this spring were mouldy. Heilongjiang Province is China's largest producer of commerical grains. (Xinhua/Wang Kai)
