Rain, snow disperse smog, causing accidents

Rain and light snow falls in Beijing slightly disperse the lingering smog that suffocated the city for a few days. A fresh cold front hit the central and eastern China on Thursday and was expected to ease the smog that suffocated these areas in the past few days. Because of the freezing temperature, the rainwater turned to thin ice on the road, leading to many slips and traffic accidents in Beijing on Thursday. (Photo/Xinhua)
