According to Xinhua reports, there currently are as many as 180 million single young men and women in China. The founder of an online dating platform Gong Haiyan said that China is currently in the process of urbanization. Numerous young people came to cities from rural areas and small towns and most of them have great pressure to survive, so they are too absorbed in their careers to have time to look for a partner for marriage.

On Nov. 11, the above mentioned online dating platform published a survey report on Chinese people's views of love and marriage in the fourth quarter of 2012, with more than 50 percent of 44,000 respondents taking dating sites as the first choice because there are no other channels to look for a spouse. However, the uncertainty of network makes them worried about the security of online dating.
